August 23, 2008: Rebels for a Cause "Maddie's Ride for Miracles"

The Rebels for A Cause ~ "Maddie's Ride for Miracles" event is a motorcycle ride that goes from Motor City Harley-Davidson in Farmington Hills to the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston on Saturday, August 23 for the Brooks and Dunn, Rodney Atkins and ZZ Top concert in honor of Maddie Trudel.

Seven-year-old Maddie Trudel fought a courageous battle with bone cancer, which she sadly lost in November of 2006. Prior to her passing, Maddie's "Wish" was granted with a trip to Disney World. Maddie's Dad, Paul Trudel, created "Rebels For A Cause", to help other children's "Wishes" come true, in memory of Maddie. Read more about "Rebels For A Cause" and Maddie's story.

Rebels for a Cause was founded by Paul Trudel, as a way to honor the memory of his daughter Maddie and to benefit Make-A-Wish of Michigan, an organization that personally touched his life as well as the lives of many children with life-threatening medical conditions.

While in the hospital at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Maddie was visited by country star singer, Rodney Atkins. Rodney Atkins heard that Maddie's favorite song was none other then his number one best selling single "If You're Going Through Hell..." He was able to contact people who put into motion the steps needed to take him to meet Maddie. Arriving at Mott Hospital's pediatric oncology floor, he visited Maddie in her room. Taking along his guitar he played and sang his hit song for his most special audience.

That visit with Maddie remained sepcial to Rodney Atkins and when her father Paul contacted Rodney and told him about his vision of holding a concert to benefit children, without hesitation, Rodney Atkins agreed.

You too can be part of this amazing and awesome, from the heart, charity event. Enjoy a great evening and Bring Joy to others.
